Review by hotel critic
Staying at Casa Lastra in Valparaíso was a delightful surprise that I hadn't anticipated. The old charm of the building seamlessly blended with modern comforts, especially the beautifully furnished room that felt breezy and inviting. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace; it was an ideal spot for breakfast with stunning city views, and it provided a subtle atmosphere to unwind after exploring the local murals. Our genial host, much like a local archaeologist uncovering the layers of history, shared about the nearby attractions, including Pablo Neruda's House, just a short walk away-a gem for anyone fascinated by literature and culture as I am. Plus, having a well-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare a light snack after a day of exploring, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of a kettle in our room for a warm cup of tea as we reflected on our adventures. For any visitors pondering the so-called dangers of Valparaiso, rest assured, the vibrant streets are full of life-not only did I feel safe, but the carnival atmosphere during our last night there was simply unforgettable. If you appreciate staying in a place rich in culture and history, Casa Lastra is a treasure worth experiencing!
